Female Fives!
Get ready for a fantastic summer with The Gap FC’s exciting Female Fives! Our female football series is back for 2024, and we can’t wait to see you on the pitch. This program is all about giving women and girls the chance to play in a league just for them—similar to our dedicated winter leagues.
Whether you’re a seasoned pro or trying football for the first time, everyone’s welcome. Teams can nominate for social or competitive levels, and we’ll do our best to match up players of similar experience to keep things fun and fair. But most importantly, it’s all about having a great time, soaking up that laid-back summer vibe, and enjoying the beautiful game. Come join us!
Who?
- Girls and women from ages 8 (born 2016) and up.
- Players can be new to the game or existing players.
- Players are asked to register as a team with an assigned manager if possible this way we can contact the manager as needed.
- Players are welcome to register individually and the club will do its best to find a team for you to join, however, we can not guarantee a position.
What?
- The competition is a 5-a-side format of football played on small sized pitches to maximise fun. Each team will be required to have 4 outfield players and a goalkeeper. These roles can switch around during the game.
- Teams should aim to have a minimum of 7 players and a maximum of 10 players to ensure they are able to field a full team each week. If your team is short of players when you register, we can assist in finding some for you.
- Teams are required to wear the same coloured top.
- Games are played on the same nominated night each week for specific age groups.
- Games consist of 2 x 20-minute halves with a two-minute half-time break.
- What to bring? Yourself, a pair of plastic studded football boots, shin pads and your team’s coloured top.
This year we plan to run the comp as follows:
- U8–U10 – Monday
- U11–U12 – Tuesday
- Teens – Wednesday
- Women – Thursday
- Mixed adults – Friday
Cost
- Early bird registration is $120 per player until 1 September 24. $140 per player after 1 September 24.
- Registration closes 15 September 24.
- Players who have not played FQ football for 2024 will have to pay approx $25 to FQ for insurance/registration. Details on how to complete FQ registration will be provided once the club registration has been confirmed.
When?
- The competition will run between 5:30–7:30pm for the Junior teams and older teams finishing up at 8:30pm.
- The time of your match will change each week, the weekly schedule will be on the website five days beforehand.
- Competition will run for nine weeks from the week commencing Monday 30th September 2024. Week 10 will be a catch-up week in case of rained out games.
Where?
- Games will be played at both TGFC field 1 northern end and our partner training facility, Payne Road State School (PRSS). Games will alternate between the two locations.
- Parking will be available at the club with a short walk over the bridge to access the PRSS fields.

How?
- If you are part of a team, your designated manager needs to register your team and a link will be provided to them for the rest of the team to register.
- If you are an individual, register yourself and we will do our best to place you in a team.
